As I have moved through this earthly experience, one of the defining moments of my life occurred at age 14. My artwork reflects that moment and many encounters since........
I lay in the darkness
My mind flitting from one thought to another,
I kept being pulled back to the one moment in time
When I was forever transformed,
Forever changed.
He stood before me that night with His long flowing robes;
All in white He was,
Emanating a most radiant light.
He was much like Moses,
But then again,
Moses could never carry the Light
As this being did.
It must have been the Holy Spirit.
Fear of judgment swept over me for an instant.
Had I done something so wrong;
So terrible?
Then just as quickly it faded away,
Being replaced with awe and wonder.
His arms wrapped around me,
Enfolding me in His Light and Love.
I felt safe and secure in His presence.
He spoke without speaking,
Yet I heard His message in my heart.
All that He told me at that moment is not clear,
But I knew my life would never be the same.
What was left was a clear understanding that
I had been chosen;
For what, how or when I did not know.
After a time,
He moved away
And I knew it was time to go.
As I turned to move from that place,
The light faded away into the night,
But the moment has never
Faded from my heart or mind.
I know that it has been that Light
That has been guiding me all through my life
And will until the end of time.
